Get ready for a wild and fun-filled adventure with “Monkey Madness”! In this engaging virtual field trip, we’ll take you deep into the jungle of Costa Rica to explore the amazing world of monkeys. From playful howler monkeys to mischievous capuchins, this tour will showcase all the fascinating species of monkeys that call Costa Rica home.

During this 30-minute interactive journey, we’ll introduce you to the different species of monkeys that live in Costa Rica, their behaviors, habitats, and the vital conservation efforts underway to protect them. Along the way, we’ll also show you the enrichment activities we use to ensure the monkeys at Toucan Rescue Ranch stay active, engaged, and happy!

Costa Rica is home to four species of monkeys, and we’ll introduce you to each of them, with fascinating facts about their behavior and unique characteristics in a presentation.

Enrichment in Action

Monkeys are incredibly intelligent and social animals, and we ensure they stay mentally and physically active through enrichment activities. During the tour, you’ll see firsthand how we create fun and stimulating environments to encourage natural behaviors.

Throughout the tour, we’ll also include interactive quizzes and fun facts about each species. You’ll have the chance to test your knowledge about these amazing primates. Can you guess which monkey has the longest tail or which one is known for its acrobatic skills?

Conservation and Care

Learn about the critical conservation work being done at Toucan Rescue Ranch to protect these incredible species. From rescue and rehabilitation efforts to working with local communities to reduce human-wildlife conflict, we’re dedicated to ensuring that monkeys can thrive in their natural habitats.

Duration: 30 minutes (Includes an introduction to TRR, in-depth info on monkeys, and a 10-minute Q&A)

Meet the Monkeys of Costa Rica

Flat Rates:

  • 1–10 students: $25
  • 11–20 students: $50
  • 21–30 students: $100
  • More than 30 students: $150

Known for their loud, echoing calls that can be heard from miles away, these monkeys are one of the largest primates in Costa Rica. Learn about their social structure and the role they play in maintaining the forest ecosystem.

These curious and intelligent monkeys are known for their problem-solving skills and use of tools. Capuchins are also highly social, and we’ll explain how they form tight-knit communities and their importance in forest ecology.

With their long, prehensile tails and incredible agility, spider monkeys are the acrobats of the forest. We’ll explain how they rely on their tails to help them forage and how their conservation status is tied to the preservation of their forest habitats.

These small, energetic monkeys are known for their high-pitched calls and quick movements. We’ll also talk about the threats they face and what’s being done to protect their natural habitats.
