- Distinctive Features: The Tropical Screech Owl is easily recognized by its ear tufts, light grey disk outlined in black, and herringbone streaks on its upper parts.
- Diet: They primarily prey on large arthropods, which make up about 66% of their diet, and small vertebrates, which account for 33%.
- Camouflage: During the day, they conceal themselves in trees, with their plumage providing excellent camouflage against the bark.
