Andrea Quirós Vargas is the Tour Coordinator, Lead Guide and Recruiter at Toucan Rescue Ranch. She studied Management of Natural Resources in the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), and has always had a passion to work with wild animals and nature. Started working at TRR in September 2020 and loves educating people about the animals at the Ranch telling their stories, biology of the species, threats, and how people can contribute to their conservation.

Currently, she leads the team of guides on TRR’s environmental education program, organizing on-site and virtual experiences for national and international audiences. She’s also in charge of the Recruitment Team of volunteers and interns, and the Corporate Volunteering program, that is coordinated alongside the Marketing Department, collaborating with local organizations to promote a positive and sustainable environmental impact.

Andrea is also a lover of all wildlife and loves to learn new things about flora and fauna, especially mammals, insects (bees!), and the interactions they can have with their environment.

Biography

Andrea Quirós Vargas is the Tour Coordinator and a full-time guide at Toucan Rescue Ranch. She is completing her degree in Management of Natural Resources at UNED in Costa Rica, focusing on captive wildlife management for her thesis. Andrea joined TRR in October 2020 and is dedicated to educating visitors about wildlife conservation. Her volunteer work with Gente y Fauna, participation in the Ecological Restoration Network, and leadership roles in the Student Association of Management of Natural Resources reflect her deep commitment to wildlife and environmental education.
