With a background as a Sarapiquí local guide and hands-on experience in a sloth care center, Jocabeth Porras Chaves has developed extensive knowledge of wildlife and animal behavior. Seeking a deeper impact in conservation, she joined Toucan Rescue Ranch to actively contribute to wildlife rehabilitation and release efforts.

As Release Site Supervisor, Jocabeth is responsible for caring for rescued animals, preparing them for release, creating safe spaces, and designing enrichment

activities to support their transition back into the wild. She also ensures a safe and welcoming environment for volunteers and interns from around the world.

Passionate about conservation, Jocabeth is dedicated to reducing human-wildlife conflict and promoting coexistence between people and nature.

Jocabeth Porras Chaves is the Release Site Supervisor at Toucan Rescue Ranch, where she oversees animal care, enrichment, and release preparations. With experience as a Sarapiquí local guide and in a sloth care center, she brings valuable knowledge of wildlife rehabilitation. Jocabeth is passionate about creating safe spaces for both animals and people while working to reduce human-wildlife conflict and promote conservation efforts.
