Scope of Job
Joselyn Miranda-González is a Tropical Biologist who graduated from Universidad Nacional with a bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2019. She is currently completing her Licenciatura degree in Natural Resources Management. Her background includes research on amphibians and birds, as well as experience as a technical assistant at the Laboratorio de Hidrología Ambiental (LHA) and with the NGO Soy Conservación,
where she assisted in field sampling and community workshops focused on environmental education.
Joselyn joined Toucan Rescue Ranch as an on-call tour guide in August 2022 and became a full-time guide in November 2023. In addition to leading educational tours, she works at the reception, handling emergency wildlife calls and providing visitor information.
Biography
Joselyn Miranda-González is a Tropical Biologist with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Nacional and is currently completing her Licenciatura in Natural Resources Management. She has experience in research on amphibians and birds and has worked with the Laboratorio de Hidrología Ambiental (LHA) and the NGO Soy Conservación, focusing on field sampling and environmental education.
Joselyn became a full-time tour guide at Toucan Rescue Ranch in November 2023, after initially joining as an on-call guide in August 2022. She also assists with reception duties, including handling emergency wildlife calls and providing visitor information. She is passionate about educating visitors on wildlife conservation and fostering a deeper appreciation for nature.
Outside of work, Joselyn is a member of the birding women's community Jacanas Costa Rica and enjoys reading and photography.
