What to Bring
- Stay prepared for the elements: Pack water, sunscreen, an umbrella, a rain jacket, and a sweater.
- Pathways: Our paths are fairly level and graveled for easy walking.
Accessibility & Special Needs
- Our facilities are wheelchair accessible.
- If you have any medical conditions, let your guide know so we can ensure your comfort.
A Friendly Reminder
- Pets are not allowed on the property to protect our wildlife.
- Have a service animal – Read our service animal policy
Language Preferences
- Tours may be bilingual (Spanish & English) based on reservations. We’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred language!

Arrival Details
- You’re welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes before your scheduled tour start time. Please avoid arriving earlier, as we may not be able to accommodate you.

Traveling with a Large Group?
If you’re visiting with a large group and can’t make the reservation yourself, please contact us directly so we can assist you and ensure we’re able to accommodate your entire party.
At Toucan Rescue Ranch, we are committed to ethical wildlife tourism and prioritizing the well-being of the animals in our care.
Why No Touching?
As a rescue and rehabilitation center, our primary goal is to provide a safe, stress-free environment for the wildlife we care for. Allowing the public to handle or touch the animals can cause unnecessary stress and, in some cases, may pose risks to both the animal and the person. Many of our rescues have endured traumatic experiences, and minimizing human contact is essential to their recovery and long-term well-being.
Our Hands-Off Policy
Only trained staff are allowed to handle animals, and even then, it is done only when necessary, such as for medical care. This approach helps ensure that each animal receives the best care while maintaining their natural behaviors, which is especially important for those being prepared for release back into the wild.
A Unique and Ethical Experience
While we don’t allow visitors to hold wildlife, we guarantee your visit will still be special, deeply personal, and highly educational. You’ll have the chance to observe our incredible residents up close and learn their stories while gaining valuable insights into the importance of conservation.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your reservation: No refunds will be issued.
- Cancellations made 7 days or less (but more than 24 hours) before your reservation: 50% of your ticket will be refunded.
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before your reservation: You will receive a full refund (100%).
We are happy to accommodate rescheduling to a different date whenever possible. This allows flexibility for our guests while minimizing the need for refunds. Thank you for your understanding!

Enjoy a delicious artisan lunch at Riverside Pizzeria & Gastropub before heading to Bici Chocolate for a hands-on, sustainable chocolate-making experience.
Looking for a more hands-on, immersive experience at Toucan Rescue Ranch? Our Wildlife Enrichment Workshop is perfect for families or small groups who want to actively engage with the animals while learning about animal husbandry and enrichment practices!
Embark on the Classic Ranch Educational Walk and explore our sanctuary, home to an incredible variety of rescued wildlife! This immersive tour offers an unforgettable opportunity to meet our permanent residents, who we call our wildlife ambassadors, where our experienced tour guides will share their stories of rescue and recovery.
Slothies & Coffees offers a 30-minute deep dive into the world of sloths, complete with coffee, refreshments, and bakery snacks. This exclusive session is not included in our general tours. The 2.5-hour guided experience also features the Classic Ranch Walk, providing an intimate tour for small groups.
