August 4th is International Owl Awareness Day. This is a BIG day in Oxford Owl’s calendar. Owl thinks you can never know too much about owls, so we’ve pulled together some key owl facts and our favourite owl reads to help spread the word.
Today is all about owls. Did you know that the Toucan Rescue Ranch specializes in owl rehabilitation, breeding, and release? At TRR we rescue up to eight different species of owl native to Costa Rica. We have a very successful release program where we rehabilitate, train, and reintroduce owls back into their natural habitat. We also have a captive breeding program for those who are not able to be released. Once babies reach sexual maturity we are able to introduce these birds into our successful Release Program where they are put #backinthetrees!
