Share to Save is Here!
New Name. Same Mission. More Wildlife Saved.
For five years, photographers, artists, nature lovers, and wildlife supporters from around the world have come together with one goal: giving Costa Rica’s wildlife a second chance.
What began as #TRRShareYourShot, #CallForArtists, and #TunesForToucans has grown into something even bigger. Today, we proudly introduce a new name that reflects the true heart of this initiative: Share To Save!
Share to Save is a creative initiative that brings together art, photography, and design to support wildlife conservation. Creatives from around the world share their work to help raise awareness and funds for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
This year’s theme is: Creatives for Conservation.
We invite creatives of all backgrounds to submit artwork, photography, design, or other visual creations inspired by wildlife and the importance of protecting it.
Selected pieces will have the opportunity to be showcased in a live gallery in Costa Rica, where art and conservation come together to tell the stories of wildlife and the people working to protect it.
*All of the exhibition pieces will be printed locally, meaning artists can participate from anywhere in the world while always retaining full ownership of their work.
Why Share to Save Matters?
Every year, more than 500 animals arrive at Toucan Rescue Ranch injured, orphaned, or displaced. Caring for them requires specialized veterinary attention, daily nutrition, rehabilitation care, and safe enclosures.
It costs over $50,000 each month to operate our Rescue Center, Sanctuary, and Release Site.
And unlike what many people believe, wildlife rescue centers in Costa Rica don’t receive government funding. We rely entirely on the generosity of donors, supporters, and initiatives like this contest to continue our work!
Our mission goes beyond survival. It’s about healing animals, restoring their strength, and giving them a true second chance to return to the wild where they belong.
The funds raised through Share to Save go directly toward these operational costs, helping us provide:
- Daily food and nutrition for rescued wildlife
- Medications and veterinary care
- Rehabilitation and specialized animal care
- Enclosure maintenance and habitat improvements
- Essential supplies needed throughout the animals’ recovery
Submission Rules
Participants may submit ONE (1) art piece.
The submission period ends March 20th at 11:59 PM (Costa Rica Time).
Art must be related to wildlife and this year’s conservation theme.
All ages are welcome to participate.
Artists under 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Only art pieces submitted through the official submission form will be considered.
🚫 Only ethical wildlife art that promotes respectful human-wildlife interactions will be accepted.
Submissions must follow all contest rules to qualify.

Flight to Fish
Artist: Artworks by CR
Inspiration: From the beginning of memory I’ve existed at the intersection of art and science with an innate passion to document the world around me that drives my creation. My work follows what I’m able to capture photographically, translated in combinations of paint, marker, pencil, and digital media. With conservation of our planet more important now than ever, I aim to share my own wonder in hopes it’s catching.

Creatives for Conservation
Artist: Luisa Vidales Reina
Inspiration: As a creative, I love to take the responsibility to use my skillset towards projects for conservation. Whether it’s by doing a social media campaign, an illustrated book, or the visual identity for an NGO, it’s one of my pillars. This drawing is my take on being a creative at the service of conservation: speaking about it, transmitting the message. It’s specifically done on re-purposed paper from a packaging.

Jaguar vs. caimán, duelo de titanes
Artist: Isabelle Chico
