Last March 3, on World Wildlife Day, our short documentary Saving Sloths Together was announced as part of the official selection of Jackson Wild’s 2023 World Wildlife Day Film Showcase!
The announcement was part of the UN World Wildlife Day 2023 event at the National Geographic Society’s Grosvenor Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
“The 2023 World Wildlife Day Showcase is the seventh film competition jointly organized as part of the annual World Wildlife Day celebrations by Jackson Wild, the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to inspire personal responsibility and stewardship for endangered creatures across the world.”
Jackson Wild Announces Official Selections for 2023 WorldWildlife Day Film Showcase.
This year’s theme is “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation.” We are thrilled to be part of such a fantastic collection of films aiming to raise awareness about worldwide fauna and flora!
The films will be available for free online streaming through the end of the year.
About the Saving Sloths Together Short Documentary
This film lays out our nationwide program that provides successful rewilding for orphaned and injured sloths in Costa Rica. To accomplish this, we offer medical care, rehabilitation, and the nurturing of skills sloths need to ensure a successful release back into the wild.

Why do Sloths Need Help?
Sloths are highly successful arboreal species. Growing human interactions and development in Costa Rica have made it difficult for them to thrive. Sloths are negatively affected as humans move further into the forests and coastlines – Couple this with growing social media trends; sloths face more threats to their survival than ever before.
